I want to backup only the user settings and profiles using USMT.
How we can achieve this and what are the .xml files needed to check this?

Hello,
during restore using a MDT 2012 i get the following error:
There is still a network-connection avaialable....Howto fix this issue?
Hi,
I'm getting a "BSOD 0x000000DA The driver is mismanaging system PTES" when trying to deploy Windows 7 x86 and Vista x86 on AMD systems using MDT 2012. It happens right after the first boot windows boot just after the message "Setup is preparing your computer for first use. Checking video performance"
According to my research, it seems related to the video card driver. The system video card is an nvidia and the board is an Asus M5A97. I even try deleting all the nvidia drivers from my drivers folder so it wouldn't try to inject a video driver. Still, the error persist.
I'm also trying to find the most recent hotfix that replace the videoprt.sys file for both Windows 7 x86 and Vista x86.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi,
In the EDT with windows 7: if you installed the image on a pc you have an icon on the desktop for setting up the recovery partition and a sysprep.
And everything is done.
So you have the latest state of the pc in the WinRe Partition.
Im looking since a month for the same task sequenze to do it with win 8 and win 7 in the Microsoft Deployment tool 2012.
Can anyone help please.
I cant find anything about a Litetouch oem install with WinRe embedded like the express deployment toll with win 7.

Hi,
I am trying to replicate our Windows 7 build that basically automates a task sequence using the TaskSqeuenceID= within the Rules (Customsettings.ini) but it looks like it is completely ignoring my rules.
The following is a caopy of our customsettings.ini

and

I used MDT to deploy Windows 7 with a bunch of applications. After a hard-drive failure, I no longer have the original deployment directory and have lost everything. I do, however, have the USB key which was used for installations and have all the application packages sat in the Deploy/Applications directory.
Is there anywhere I can look to find the command-line parameters that were configured for each installation? I've search all the files in the Scripts directory but found nothing. Where does LiteTouch look to find information on the available packages and installation parameters? I'll have to start from scratch but was hoping not to have to hunt around for the necessary silent options, etc..
Hey everyone!
Right now in our environment, I have a list of mandatory applications delivered through a consistent order by using the "MandatoryApplicationsXXX=" line inside the CustomSettings.ini file.
What I'm now looking to do is give the end user the option to de-select SOME of the Applications (not all) within the Deployment Wizard, but still preserve the mandatory properties of certain key applications.
I'm looking to have all options initially checked at the time of the Deployment Wizard, but have the mandatory apps grayed out.
Is it possible to use a combination of ApplicationsXXX= and MandatoryApplicationsXXX= lines within the same CustomSettings.ini file? If not, what would it take to create such an option?
Thanks!!!

Hi all,
we have define in our customsetting.ini a different OU for NEWCOMPUTERS
MachineObjectOU=ou=newcomputers,dc=company,dc=de
on this OU there a many appliations (Adobe Reader etc) that we deploy with ActiveDirectory GroupPolicy
It work's fine because we have only one operating system (Windows 7). But now we plan to deploy Server 2012.
is it posible to use other OU (tasksequence) for our server 2012 setup, without modification in the customsetting.ini?

Hello,
i have an error for different OS-deployments.
The error also occurs with a new Task-sequence without adding info to the task sequence:
I thought there will be something in customsettings.ini that will occur this error. But also in cs.ini i can`t find any relation:

Windows 7 is running well...but windows 8 and server 2012 not!
What is the problem here?
Hi,
We are curenntlly upgrading from XP to Windows 7 using SCCM 07 and MDT 2012 U1. Some users will be getting brand new pc's and some will be getting a refresh. At present we have one TS for doing the refresh using USMT offline (hard linking) and one TS for a new build which wipes the hard disk and the users personal folders are replaced manually.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to have one task sequence for a new build and refresh? Would I have to use a HTA or the User Driven Installation in MDT? I have tried UDI but keep running into issues with restoring the profile and installing apps. The above two TS's work fine.
Thanks
Hi guys, Hope someone may have seen this before and be able to help:
In order to prepare for Windows 8 deployments we have installed the new ADK onto our MDT server. However, now when we generate the usb builds from the media selection in MDT we are unable to build from them.
Comparing one of the new USB content folders to one generated before installing ADK; the content\boot folder contains different files.
When booting from one of the new ADK generate USBs, the WinPE environment will load but it then just opens a command propt sitting on X:\Windows\System32 rather then opening up the task sequence selection window.

Hi
Environment: Windows server 2008 R2(VM), 2GB RAM, WADK 8, MDT 2012 SP1
When I try to build a boot ISO using either MDT or ImageX, I receive an error when DISM is used to add packages.
Processing 1 of 1 - Adding package WinPE-HTA-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.2.9200.16384
An error occurred - WinPE-HTA-Package Error: 0x80070005
Error: 5
Access is denied.
This repeats for all WINPE packages being added by DISM.
I have rebuilt the server and reinstalled but the same affect. I have tried running it as admin, editing rights and making the name of the packages lower case but cannot seem to get anywhere. Any help would be great.

I imported drivers of all hardware we own and now I have lots of drivers in different versions and also many redundant drivers (1), (2),... (7), (8),.. at all.
And all of them get (if net or storage) get included into bootimages.
Is there an easy way to clean up the drivers?
I can not find the activation key on the Internet.
Could anyone help me?
This happens randomly (and not that often) for our Windows 7 image and simply reimaging the machine gets the deployment to succeed. We use MDT 2012 with LTI imaging over the network (boot from USB or PXE). Below are the error messages that appear in the smsts.log and bdd.log
