I have a problem with MDT Bootable USB.
Indeed, when I create a media and tell it to take the unique applications and drivers present in my MDT Deployment Share, everything works.

Deploying Windows 10 1909 using from USB media - Windows Failed to start
Hi all,
At this time, the only method I have available to deploy windows is by USB flash stick. We are not using PXE or any type of server technology to do MDT.
I seem to be having an issue with deploying windows 10 1909 from a USB flash drive (1903 is working no issues). I keep getting a "windows failed to start" error. sometimes it states "There isn't enough memory available to Create a ramdisk device" other times, it states "a required device isn't connected or can't be accessed."
There is nothing special about the image, and it is built from the 1909 ISO.
There are only 2 scripts that are put in the task sequence, one to pull the product key from BIOS, the other is used to do a BIOS update.
No applications are being installed at this time
Drivers have been added for all models we image.
There is one cumulative update added to the package.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

So to use DefaultGateway in Bootstrap.ini to set the DeployRoot, I am a little fuzzy on a couple of things. Using a LiteTouch ISO, does the machine booting require a DHCP address or can I statically assign one either by using the Welcome Screen or using the MAC in Bootstrap/Customsettings.ini?
I'm going down this route because I tried to use the LocationServer.xml method to select a DeployRoot, but the issue I ran into is that the UserID and UserPassword are no longer read from Bootstrap.ini if I do this, at least they aren't for me. I am using a UserExitScript to decrypt the password so I'm not storing things in clear-text in the INI files, so not sure if that script no longer get's processed if I don't statically assign a DeployRoot, but my solution is to try and use the DefaultGateway section.
Booting with LiteTouch(iso) - Can not reach DeployRoot

When trying to install&capture a VM, I get an error when booting with the LiteTouch iso.
"A connection to the deployment share (\\<ip>\DeploymentShare$) could not be made."
But it is pointing to the IP of the old MDT share...on a server that doesn't exist.
I moved the deploymentshare-files to the new server, but I did update the bootstrap.ini with the new IP and servername, and rebuilt the ISO. Opening the commandline on the VM, x:\deploy\scripts\bootstrap.ini - shows me the correct IP. I can also ping it. Still the error is pointing to the old server.
Any ideas?

Trying to deploy Windows 10 to a Hyper V VM with MDT. It gets to "Install Operating System" in the Task Sequence and then fails.
BDD.log is saying this:

It is a 50 GB Virtual Drive and the TS looks to be partitioning it correctly so I don't believe it's a partitioning issue.
The VM has 4GB of RAM.

Reference Image for 2019 BSOD after sysprep "PNP Watchdog"
I'm trying to get about as basic of a 2019 reference image built as possible, but I keep failing after it executes sysprep and reboots to capture. It'll reboot to the windows icon with a spinner, but eventually BSOD's with a "Driver PNP Watchdog" message.

Vsphere 6.7, using e1000 NIC (have no issues with server 2016/12 or Win10/7)
I can use the same ISO and manually build the OS without issue.
From the logging tab, it always gets to execute sysprep step 78 of 86. It'll just continue to reboot and BSOD after this.
Any pointers on where to look to see what exactly is going on, would be greatly appreciated.
Deploying WIM Image from USB

I've spent the past three days trying to find a good way to deploy my image from a USB file. This is for our level one technicians, so I'm trying to minimize the amount of CMD line work they have to do. I've been using the microsoft Technet articles, and currently have a WinPE USB created with a separate Image partition containing the image file. The issue is, I can't get the scripts to see the Win10_1903.wim file in the images directory.
This is my current attempt to have the script automatically find the correct drive letter:

Offline MDT not applying OS
I am currently in the process of trying to create an USB Offline Media of our MDT deployment to allow re-imaging of computers that are not located at the home office. I have set up the deployment accordingly and followed instructions for creating a USB successful. (This link is close to the process I used https://www.bigbangllc.com/Support/UIU-Blog/PostId/59/creating-offline-media-with-microsoft-deployment-toolkit-mdt). Booting the computer to the USB, launching the offline MDT deployment successfully. I select my options accordingly and then MDT starts. Everything goes smoothly until it tries to the apply the captured OS wim file to the computer. It will produce an error, "The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000005). Click OK to close the application". Clicking OK ends the deployment. I ran many, many troubleshooting attempts to resolve this issue but to no luck. Any help would be helpful.
Main Steps I have performed:
- Updated MDT and Windows ADK
- Completely regenerated the boot image
- Created a new Task Sequence
- Recaptured the Windows 10 v1903 image and used it in the TS
- Tried using the default Microsoft Windows 10 v1903 from the Windows install image
- Pxe Boot to the deployment and reimaged the computer. This was successfully but USB Offline version no luck.
One thing I have also noticed is that Diskpart is assigning the partition that Windows will be installed on as letter E: drive. I don't understand why it will not reassign the letter C: to the newly clean primary partition even though I noticed that diskpart reassign the C: drive as W: drive and then proceeds to clean and format the disk but then assign it as E: drive. Thus, dism tries to apply the OS to the E: drive instead. I have attempted to use powershell scripts to change the drive letter back to C: drive before the OS is applied. Which was successful but dism will try to look for the E: drive to apply the image still but errors out due to unable to locate it.

LTIsysprep.wsf - Shuts down a reference machine
Hi All,
Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced an issue whereby the LTIsysprep.wsf, using the default SYSPREP command actually shuts a reference machine down when running through a "Sysprep and Capture" Task Sequence.
I have noticed that the default SYSPREP command is "sysprep.exe /quiet /generalize /oobe /shutdown". When using VMs (Generation 1 or 2) on Hyper-V as reference machines this command completes successfully and then shuts the VM down. Given the parameters above I would expect this, but this breaks the Task Sequence and leaves the reference machine in limbo.
If we change the default command to "sysprep.exe /quiet /generalize /oobe /quit" the SYSPREP works as expected and the Task Sequence continues running the "Apply Windows PE (BCD)" and "Restart Computer" steps. The machine restarts and captures a WIM. If I use the default command I never get a captured WIM.
As far as I can tell the command is wrong, or I am missing something more fundamental. I have checks the LTIApply, BDD and LTIsysprep logs files and there are no issues. Basic stuff like DOCapture=YES and the Backup location are in place so I have covered what I think are the basics.
Any advice would be great.

When I open the MDT app, and attempt to import out of box drivers, it is painful. hours for what should take minutes. This is recent. I'm importing into the deployment share from the Sources share on the same server.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm not sure which logs to check. I know they are in different areas. Nothing popping out in the event viewer.
Benchmarks:
I copied 1611 items from the source directory to my desktop in about 6 mins ~ .23 secs per item
I copied the same folder back to Deploy share in even less time : 4.5 mins ~ .17 secs per item, so I don't think this is any kind of external network problem or anything.
