In my steep learning curve of MDT, I have found the toolkit reference and properties.
Each property has a "property configured by".
Some properties can be configured in both bootstrap and customsettings. Why was MDT designed to have both these files, why not just one?
Some properties can also be configured by a deployment database. Again, why wasnt MDT designed to just use one file?
For example, _SMSTSOrgName can be configured in either bootstrap, customsettings or DB. Whats the difference in where it is located?
Ive noticed that we currently dont use a deployment database. Is it rarely used because most people put stuff in customsettings? Same goes for bootstrap...do most people just put the bare minimum in there (e.g. deployroot) and do all of their property
work in customsettings?
