Change the default time out for WDS and Windows Boot Manager

I finally got WDS set up and was able to see the whole process in action. After several months of blood, sweat and tears, it was a good way to end a Friday.

But the fun has only just begun. On to my next question:

This may not be the best forum to ask this question, but when PXE booting with WDS, there is the 30 second timeout for Windows Boot Manager to select which boot image you would like to use. I would like to change this to not time out at all. I've looked on the forums and Google and found how to supposedly change it, but it is not working. It still stays at 30 seconds. This is the process I am following, which is also the same process listed in the WDS Deployment Guide.

Using an elevated command line, I type the following:

bcdedit /store e:\RemoteInstall\Boot\x86\default.bcd /set {bootmgr} timeout 0

sc control wdsserver 129

Then I do the same thing for the x64 store. Both end with a "successful" message each time, but when I try PXE booting again, it is still at 30 seconds. I even tried changing the timeout to 90 seconds to see if maybe 0 wasn't a viable option, but still set to 30 seconds. I think there is something else that I need to do, but I haven't seen anyone mention this. Unless I'm looking for the wrong topic.

Has anyone gotten this to work? The process will stop at picking which Task Sequence to use, but I'd like it to not get that far if I can help it. Other than that, everything appears to be working.

Thanks,

Mike
