Currently working on Deploying Windows 10 via MDT. It works fine via the normal method of using the litetouch iso but when i try and create the standalone usb iso and build from that, the deployment finishes but it doesnt install half of the software.
Here is the log. Can anyone advise what i can do to ensure it all installs? I have copied and pasted the first app that doesnt actually install even though from the log it says it does.
This all works fine from a network deployment so i am bit puzzled.

I'm currently using MDT 2013 U2. I'd like to create a task sequence where it will push out Windows 10 to a Dell OptiPlex and before capturing it, that it will give me enough time to install 3 legacy software programs I have that I don't believe I'm able to deploy as a package / application.
Is this possible to do with MDT 2013 U2? What is the best way for me to be able to do this?
Thanks!
Thanks... Frank
Just built a new 2012 server and included WDS. Any have any idea why this is happening? I've never had a problem before!
All the settings are the same as on our previous server.

[Settings]I have been attempting to get .NET 3.5 installed in our 8.1 Enterprise builds and I continue to receive DISM errors. I have added a TS step that installs the 3.5 feature but continue to get errors. This worked in the past but I have modified the task sequence slightly to add windows update roll-up packages in the Apply Patches step.
I also tried running an application using the DISM commands to install this directly from the source path, but it always fails. What am I missing here? Is it possible that adding the update packages will make this fail?
Hello, I'm having issues with MDT 2013 and installed .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 via the Standard Client Task Sequence. I been able to get it to process and MDT says that it installed but when I check the machine it is not.
CustomSettings.ini includes:
Standard Client Task Sequence
Again, it doesn't give me an error it says it installs but when I check the machine it is not installed......
I also have Windows Updates enabled in the State Restore Task Sequence section.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a way to require that users who request an MDT deployment be obligated to provide their credentials to be able to proceed with the MDT deployment request.
We used to have WDS ask for confirmation through the "pending devices" tab in the snap-in, but this required the IT techs to either have the WDS snap-in installed on their computer, or to remote login on the deployment server, which isn't very practical.
Thanks in advance for the help :)
Hello,
I am currently experiencing an issue with deploying a custom WIM using MDT 2013 Update 2. The same task and WIM successfully deployed out to this set of PCs before upgrading to Update 2.
My WIM is Windows 7 Enterprise x64 - created virtually using VMware. Successfully deployed and is still deploying to one set of machines - Dell laptops. But having an issue with Fuji Siemens PCs. Below is the error I am seeing. This is right after the operating system has finished applying and the unattend task has ran and is about to reboot to run the sysprep but this error appears.
Taking a closer look at the SMSTS.log seems to have lots of errors here is a sample.

I can't post any images so am unable to show the exact error during deployment.
Any ideas? Am totally stuck and out of ideas. I have tested running the TS without it injecting any drivers to see if it was a driver issue but that brings up the same issue.
Thanks.
Hey,
I'm testing deployment of Windows 10 (Pro x64) on a Surface Pro 4 tablet. I have imported the entire April driver pack (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49498) for the Surface. Deployment in general is fine, except there are some drivers missing post-deployment.
Interestingly, if I manually update the drivers, using the MDT Out-Of-Box-Drivers folder as the source, it picks up all the missing drivers.
So why are they not being injected/picked up by the initial deployment. As I say, some of the drivers are being picked up fine, so selection profiles etc. seem to be OK.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am trying to troubleshoot why my Windows 10 x64 deployment of a captured image is hanging for approx. 15 minutes in the Staterestore phase. I guess it hangs while repairing the dirty targetdrive, but how can I fix this? Filesystem is fine before sysprep and capture.

Hi!
Is it possible to override path to the CustomSettings.ini through the Bootstrap.ini? So, I'm having a script that creates a VM, inserts an LTI ISO and I need the VM to process the proper customsettings.ini (that's pre-created by the script as well). The closest I could get is to hardcode a TS ID into the default customsettings and have the Gather step to process rules from a a pre-created 'CustomSettings_<MAC ADDRESS>.ini' file, but I'd prefer bootstrap.ini to launch 'CustomSettings_<MAC ADDRESS>.ini' directly to have greater flexibility. I know that this flexibility can be achieved with SQL Database, but in my case this option is not available.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ivan

Hello,
I am wondering if it's possible to display friendly names in MDT winpe instead of the full LDAP name?
So, for example, display "Encrypted Laptops" instead of "OU=x3,OU=x2,OU=x1,DC=x,DC=x,DC=x"
Hope this makes sense!
I have a process to build my custom images using MDT 2013 on a series of VMware Workstation VMs. I'm not sure what has changed, but when I try to run my standard build/sysprep/capture task sequence for a Windows 7 SP1 x64 system, the systems gets to the point where it applies PE on the system, runs sysprep, then modifies the BCD so that the system will boot into PE.
The system reboots, PE starts, and when it gets to the point where the Windows logo appears on screen, it fails with a 0xc000000e error. The same VM successfully boots into PE via PXE to start the process.
I'm using MDT 2013 U2 with WinPE 10. Everything has been working fine for ages, but something has apparently changed. The same build/capture works as expected for Windows 10 on VMware, and also with Windows 7 SP1 x64 on Hyper-V. Whatever the issue is, it is specific to VMware Workjstation (v12 loaded on my build system).
Been digging around, but at the point now where I'm out of things to try and not sure what to look at next.

Hey Guys,
I am a rookie when it comes to HTML and Wizard Studio. I need help with disabling the "Next" button on the pane until a selection is made (like the TS pane).
I created a very simple pane with a drop down to select a country. I want the pane to open without a country selected and with the Next button disabled until one is selected.
I included my xml and screen shot of pane.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Dave

I'm fairly new to MDT. My company has tasked me to use MDT 2013 Update 1 to upgrade our user base (10,000+ machines) from Windows 7 Enterprise 64 to Window 10 Enterprise 64. My tests have gone pretty good so far, I've built a driver collection and selection profiles, I have Applications imported and set in the task sequence, etc. And everything seems to work great. I run the upgrade task sequence on a target machine, I get no errors, and once finished the system is on Windows 10 and I'm able to login.
The problem occurs after the first manual reboot. Once you do a restart, or shutdown and power back up, it gets stuck in a boot loop. I'll see the blue windows 10 logo, with the little spinning circle beneath it, the screen will flicker a couple times, and then it reboots and does the same thing. I've dug through the logs but don't see any errors or warnings. One other strange thing though: I booted one of the boot looping machines from the WIndows 10 install media, with the intention of trying the repair console. Upon booting from the install media the first window that pops up tells me "It looks like you started an upgrade and booted from installation media. If you want to continue with the upgrade, remove the media from your PC and click Yes. If you want to perform a clean installation instead, click No."
So it seems like it still thinks its in the upgrade process. But MDT says it has finished. I have no idea whats happening here.
Thanks for any help or guidance anyone can give.
I'm trying to troubleshoot a failed deployment, and I've come across an inconsistency that I would like some clarification on.
Last week we upgraded from MDT 2013 to MDT 2013 Update 2. On SOME deployments, we're getting the following error:
FAILURE ( 5624 ): 1: Run DISM: /Apply-Image /ImageFile:"\\[SERVER]\Deploy$\Operating Systems\Win7x64-Office-2016-02-18\Sources\install.wim" /Index:1 /ApplyDir:C:
In troubleshooting this, I noticed that there is no DISM.EXE anywhere in our Deploy$ share. This share was upgraded from 2013 to 2013 U2.
So I created a new deployment share, 'Test$', and noticed that it had a different amount of files and folders in it compared to the Deploy$ share.
Deploy$:
$OEM$ Applications Boot Captures Control Drivers Logs Operating Systems Out-of-Box Drivers Packages Scripts Servicing Templates Tools Audit.log
Test$
$OEM$ Applications Boot Captures Control Operating Systems Out-of-Box Drivers Packages Scripts Templates Tools Audit.log
Is there supposed to a \Servicing folder in my shares? Shouldn't there be a copy of DISM in the \Tools folder on the shares? Is my installation of MDT jacked?
Just built a new 2012 server and included WDS. Any have any idea why this is happening? I've never had a problem before!
